A 41-year-old man was arrested Monday morning on suspicion of raping a 14-year-old girl at knifepoint in Bell Gardens, police officials said.
The incident was reported to the Bell Gardens Police Department on Thursday by the girl, who said she was forced into a garage by the suspect early that morning.
Once there, the suspect and another man tied up the girl and the 41-year-old man raped her with a knife, police said.
The alleged accomplice was arrested on Thursday as police continued to search for the 41-year-old.
At 8:15 a.m. Monday, an anonymous tipster reported to the Long Beach Police Department that they saw the suspect in the Los Angeles River area near Long Beach Boulevard and the 710 Freeway after recognizing him from from a Bell Gardens police statement.
Long Beach police drove to the area and authorities said the suspect was arrested after he attempted to flee.
Police officials said the suspect attempted to hide a distinctive facial tattoo using a bandage.
