Man accused of stealing rent checks and money orders from safes at Bossier apartment complexes arrested

BOSSIER CITY, Louisiana (KSLA) – The Bossier City Police Department has arrested a man accused of stealing checks and money orders from safes at a few apartment complexes in the area.

Police said they had received reports from two resorts (Misty Hollow Apartments and Parkland Villa Apartments) of rent checks and money orders being stolen from safes. On June 3, officers monitored Parkland Villa and allegedly caught the suspect in the act. They reportedly saw the suspect, identified as Alfredo Quinones, 30, approach a safe and pull some sort of tool out of his pants. When confronted, Quinones reportedly fled from the officers.

Officers quickly grabbed Quinones and arrested him. He was held in Bossier City Prison for theft and resisting an officer. He is suspected of stealing nearly $ 6,000 in rent checks and money orders, police said.

Police said that by executing a search warrant on Quinones’ car, they would have found more evidence linking him to the crime.

The investigation is ongoing.
