He’s been a star for a while now, but the Memphis Grizzlies’ Ja Morant made a big impact on Tuesday night.
He had an incredible game and helped his team to a 106-101 win over the Golden State Warriors.
This victory was essential and avoided a 2-0 hole.
The Grizzlies enter Game 3 with a tied series, 1-1.
In other words, any team could still win this thing.
It wasn’t just Memphis fans who were raving about Morant’s play – one of the biggest names in NBA history took notice.
We just saw the most exciting player in the NBA!! Ja Morant had 47 points to lead his team over the Warriors and tie the series 1-1.

Following the explosive performance, Magic Johnson exclaimed on Twitter: “We just saw the most exciting player in the NBA!! Ja Morant scored 47 points to lead his team over the Warriors and tie the series 1-1. .
Is Johnson right and is Morant the most exciting player in the league?
Most Improved Morant
Morant is coming off the season’s Most Improved Player award, a huge honor that shows the whole league has taken notice of his talent.
But that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been great since his first game: he’s been phenomenal since entering the league.
There’s a reason he was also named the 2019 Rookie of the Year and was on the All-Rookie team.
However, he has certainly improved.
In the 2021-22 season, he had 27.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists.
Meanwhile, his career average is 21.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 7.1 assists, meaning he’s mostly stepped up in all aspects of his game.
As for the excitement surrounding his game, Johnson is right: few players are as exciting as Morant.
You see him when he runs around the field, sinks wild threes, and even completes jaw-dropping blocks.
If he continues to play like he has, we could have several more weeks of excitement.
