Madeleine McCann: Search for ‘evidence’ of missing toddler continues in Portugal with K9s and divers

Authorities in Portugal, England and Germany continued their search for Madeleine McCann – a British girl who disappeared as a child in Portugal in 2007 – on Wednesday with search dogs and dive teams.
Madeleine was abducted from a ground floor apartment while on a family holiday in Luz BeachPortugal, on May 3, 2007, when she was 3 years old.
“We have indications that we might find evidence there,” German prosecutor Christian Wolters told NDR radio station of the search area in Portugal’s Algarve region. “I don’t want to say what it is exactly, nor do I want to say where these indications come from.”
Portuguese judicial police confirmed on Monday that they would search the area near a roadblock over the next few days “at the request of the German authorities” and in the “presence of the British authorities”.

Earlier on Monday, police were seen carrying out a search near the Arade Dam, about 50 km from Praia da Luz. Police are expected to provide more information as it becomes available.

In 2020, German authorities named Brueckner, 45, as a suspect in Madeleine’s disappearance. Brueckner continues to deny his involvement in the case.
