Luka Modric bluntly told Mohamed Salah ‘maybe next time’ after Champions League final as Real Madrid star midfielder harbors Liverpool man as hilarious Gerard Pique slam

Real Madrid starlet Rodrygo has revealed a brutal dig Luka Modric gave Mohamed Salah after the Champions League final, and how they used the Liverpool striker as motivation.
Liverpool had already booked their place in the 2022 final in Paris when Salah was asked who he wanted to face between Madrid and Manchester City in the remaining semi-final.

The Egyptian, who picked up the injury against Los Blancos after a tangle with Sergio Ramos in the 2018 final, had a clear answer to the question posed.
“I want to play in Madrid, I have to be honest,” he said. “City are a very tough team, we have played against them several times this season.
“I think personally I would prefer Madrid. We lost in the final against them, so I want to play against them and hopefully win.”
Salah then doubled down on the revenge-talking comments and posted on social media with the caption, “We have a score to settle.”
Unfortunately for Salah, Thibaut Courtois’ forearm width prevented him from settling any score, meaning Vinicius Jr’s first-half goal won the tie.
Madrid players spoke about Salah after winning the club’s 14th European Cup but it turns out Modric has gone much further than his teammates, as revealed by Rodrygo.

The semi-final hero told Cortes Podcast: “I have to tell a funny story: when the Champions League final ended, we made a corridor for the Liverpool players.
“Salah walked past dejected, and Modric, who was on the other side, greeted him and said, ‘Okay, okay, next time you can try again’.”
The Brazilian also confirmed that he and his teammates thought about Salah before the game, regularly speaking about his comments in training.

Modric may have had a more reserved reputation while playing in the Premier League with Tottenham, but as his status has developed as one of the greatest players the game has seen, so has his s***housery.
Salah isn’t the first player to be harshly criticized by the Croatian, Barcelona’s Gerard Pique was also once burned by him.
After a 2-1 El Clasico victory against their rivals in October 2021, Modric already knew what was coming when he saw Pique enter the pitch, and cameras caught his harsh but hilarious comments.

“Are you ready to go complain now?” Modric asked Pique as he took him off the pitch.
“Four Minute Man [stoppage time]!” The Spaniard replied.
“How many did you want?” exclaimed the Ballon d’Or winner, before lashing out at Pique who actually addressed the referees to express his displeasure.
