Lottery | Powerball jackpot reaches 5th biggest prize at $747 million

Powerball players could stand a chance of winning $747 million, the fifth biggest jackpot in gaming history.

The Powerball jackpot rolled after no ticket matched the six numbers drawn on Saturday night, according to a press release from the game.

If someone wins Monday’s draw, they’ll take home the fifth-biggest Powerball jackpot and the ninth-biggest US lottery jackpot.

According to Powerball, Saturday’s top winning tickets included four tickets that matched the five white balls. Each of these players will win $1 million.

More than 2 million tickets won cash prizes totaling $20 million in Saturday’s draw, Powerball said. The four winning million dollar tickets were sold in Florida, New Jersey, Oregon and Pennsylvania.

The Powerball jackpot was last hit in November in Kansas, according to the press release. A single ticket won the colossal sum of $92.9 million.

The biggest Powerball jackpot of all time was won earlier in November when a lucky player won $2.04 billion in California.
