Los Angeles is the second most expensive city in the United States, according to a new survey.
A list of the most expensive places to live by U.S. News and World Report ranked three of the top five cities in Southern California.
San Diego was named the most expensive city in the country, followed by Los Angeles, Honolulu and Miami. Santa Barbara ranked No. 5.
Eight California cities were in the top 10, including San Francisco, Salinas, Santa Rosa, Vallejo and Fairfield.
The survey is based on each metro area’s “median gross rent and annual housing costs for homeowners paying a mortgage.”
