Liverpool have striker Roberto Firmino back in contention to bolster their attacking riches ahead of this afternoon’s Merseyside derby against Everton.
Firmino missed Tuesday night’s 4-0 landslide victory over Manchester United with a foot injury but could return against Everton.
The win over United propelled Liverpool to the top of the Premier League for 24 hours before Manchester City overtook them by beating Brighton the following night.
Speaking on Friday, Jurgen Klopp said: “Bobby, getting better and better. It’s just uncomfortable, painful.
“Today is his first day on the pitch, so there are still two days left, so maybe.
“If Bobby gives a thumbs up he will be involved. And no, so we wait a few more days, but then I think after that it should be possible.
When asked if there are any other fitness issues in the squad, Klopp replied: “Not that I’m aware of yet. No other issues.
Every game is up for grabs as Klopp’s men take on City in the title race, but with a Champions League semi-final first leg against Villarreal coming up on Wednesday, the German will be tempted by at least some degree of rotation . .
This could see Firmino or, perhaps more likely, Diogo Jota step into the forward line, while Naby Keita and Ibrahima Konate have both been used regularly in recent weeks.
Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Thiago, Keita, Mane, Jota, Salah
