Liverpool fans troll Everton by chanting Rafa Benitez name in Merseyside derby as some Toffees supporters leave after 20 minutes

Liverpool fans chanted Rafael Benitez’s name before and during the Merseyside derby, in a bid to liquidate their city rivals.

Benitez managed Liverpool between 2004 and 2010, becoming a club icon with wins in the Champions League and FA Cup.

A move to Chelsea in 2012 raised many eyebrows, but there was a real shock to Liverpool when Benitez chose to join Everton over the summer.

Things have started well for the Spaniard with four out of five wins, but several injuries have seen only one win for Everton in their last 10 games.

Toffees fans are seriously unhappy with the way things are going under Rafa Benitez.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have just set a new high-flying record with two or more goals in 18 straight games, and fans are reveling in their neighbors’ misfortune.

So much so that they chanted the names of their former bosses ahead of the game, just to make matters worse for the blue half of Merseyside.

Some Evertonians decided they had seen enough and left shortly after Mohamed Salah put Liverpool 2-0.

Benitez’s name was also chanted once again by the jubilant Reds supporters.

But they gave each other a chance to fight in the second half as Demarai Gray pulled one out in the 38th minute.

Things went from bad to worse, as Salah scored a second in the 64th minute before Diogo Jota added a fourth to make the misery worse.
