Surprisingly, it was McLaren’s Lando Norris who topped the leaderboards during the FP3 session. He was followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in second and Sergio Perez in third. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen finished seventh followed by Lewis Hamilton in eighth place.

During the FP1 session, it was Carlos Sainz who topped the standings after setting a lap time of 1m.19.806s. He is followed by his teammate Charles Leclerc in second position. Charles clocked a lap time of 1m.20.377s. Sergio Perez finished third after setting a lap time of 1m.20.399s.

During the FP2 session, Charles Leclerc topped the timesheet after setting a lap time of 1m.18.978s. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was second after setting a lap time of 1m.19.223s. Carlos Sainz settled for third place after setting a lap time of 1m.19.376s.

In the FP3 session, Lando Norris topped the leaderboard after setting a lap time of 1m.19.117s. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished second after setting a lap time of 1m.19.249s. Sergio Perez had to settle for third place after setting a lap time of 1m.19.265s.

How the qualifying session works
The qualifying session will start at 22:30 IST today. The qualifying session is divided into three parts, Q1, Q2 and Q3. Q1 lasts 18 minutes and all 20 cars are on the grid. At the end of Q1, the five slowest cars are eliminated. Drivers who finish 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 are eliminated.
The Q2 session lasts 15 minutes and has 15 cars on the grid. Again the slowest cars are eliminated from 11th to 15th position. Q3 lasts 12 minutes and has 10 cars on the grid. The position in which the drivers finish in Q3 will be their position on the starting grid for the race.

Race, Date – March 20
Timings – 8:30pm to 10:30pm IST
