KCRA 3’s Maricela De La Cruz spoke with business owners in Soda Springs. 7:40 p.m.: Chains are required on all vehicles except four-wheel drive vehicles with snow tires on Highway 50 between Twin Bridges and Meyers. 7:35 p.m.: Traffic has been released at Colfax and Applegate after diversions caused temporary closures. 7:22 p.m.: Traffic on eastbound Interstate 80 is blocked in Colfax due to multiple diversions, according to Caltrans. Trucks are held up at Applegate.5:50 p.m.: Traffic is stopped on eastbound Interstate 80 at the Cisco Grove Range checkpoint due to an accident. For eastbound traffic: Chains are required on all vehicles, except four-wheel drive vehicles equipped with snow tires on all four wheels, from Cisco Grove to the Donner Lake interchange. For westbound traffic: Chains are required on all vehicles except four-wheel drive vehicles. with snow tires on all four wheels from the Donner Lake interchange to 1.5 miles east of the State Route junction 8:40 p.m.: The Sacramento River Cats’ opening day game against the Salt Lake Bees was postponed due to rain. The team will make up the game by hosting a double header on Sunday. The first match will begin at 1:05 p.m. and the second match will follow approximately 30 minutes after the first end. 4:30 p.m.: Sierra roads are currently clear. but this should change after sunset. KCRA 3’s Heather Waldman said the snow is expected to linger more after dark. 1:34 p.m.: Caltrans has released all westbound traffic and there are no chain controls along Interstate 80. 1 p.m.: Caltrans says the scene is clear after a crash in the Sierra caused significant delays on I-80. 11:58 a.m.: Chain controls are in place in both directions of Interstate 80, Caltrans said. This impacts Drum Forebay to the Donner Lake interchange. 11:33 a.m.: A multi-vehicle crash blocks lanes along westbound Interstate 80 in Placer County. The crash happened near Whitmore Road near Emigrant Gap. 7:40 p.m.: Chains are required on all vehicles except four-wheel drive vehicles equipped with snow tires on Highway 50 between Twin Bridges and Meyers.

7:35 p.m.: Traffic was released at Colfax and Applegate after fallout caused temporary closures.

7:22 p.m.: Traffic on eastbound Interstate 80 is blocked in Colfax due to multiple diversions, according to Caltrans. Trucks are held up at Applegate.

5:50 p.m.: Traffic is backed up on eastbound Interstate 80 at the Cisco Grove Range checkpoint due to a crash.

For eastbound traffic: Chains are required on all vehicles except four-wheel drive vehicles equipped with winter tires on all four wheels from Cisco Grove to the Donner Lake interchange.

For westbound traffic: Chains are required on all vehicles, except four-wheel drive vehicles equipped with snow tires on all four wheels, from the Donner Lake interchange up to 2.5 km away. east of the State Route 20 junction.

4:40 p.m.: The Sacramento River Cats’ home opener against the Salt Lake Bees was postponed due to rain.

The team will make up the game by hosting a double header on Sunday.
