LIV Golf Series: Full course and teams for first event in London, including Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson

he field of 48 players for this week’s inaugural LIV Golf Series event in London has been confirmed as players step into the unknown at Centurion Club.

After months of rumours, threats and comments from Greg Norman, the Saudi-backed series kicks off with the first of eight events scheduled for 2022.

Phil Mickelson’s participation was only confirmed on Monday night, with the 51-year-old reportedly signing a deal worth around $200 million to be part of the breakaway events.

Dustin Johnson and Kevin Na both resigned from their PGA Tour memberships ahead of competition this week, Sergio Garcia and Louis Oosthuizen have reportedly done the same.

Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter and Richard Bland are among the England contingent competing on home soil while Talor Gooch, who won his first PGA Tour event last November, is a surprise name making the trip across the Atlantic.

One man not involved is Tiger Woods, who Norman says turned down a “high nine figures” offer to join the show.

A draft was held Tuesday night, dividing the 48 players into 12 teams of four.
