Lisa Ann Walter reveals how Sheryl Lee Ralph inspired body positivity

The educators at Abbott Elementary School even manages to teach themselves classes sometimes.

After saying that ex-boyfriend tried to sham her ‘for being fat’ during his time on the NBC sitcom Emeril in 2001, Lisa Anne Walter revealed that her struggle with body image actually extends much further.

“I wish it was just once,” Lisa exclusively told E! at the 2023 GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on March 30. “I’ve been ashamed all my life because I was the fat one. When I was growing up, there weren’t so many heavy kids.”

However, the actress revealed that she Abbott Elementary School co-star Sheryl Lee Ralph was given the task of helping him to cross a course.

“With Sheryl in my ear saying, ‘I won’t hear that again, I won’t hear you talk about yourself like that again,'” Lisa said, realizing that “well, at this point in my life, I’m not trying to be anything other than what I am. And I love that.
