Lewis Fiorini saved a point for Lincoln in their 1-1 Sky Bet League One draw with Rotherham at LNER Arena.
Michael Smith sent the visitors back in the lead in the first half, but after substitute Fiorini equalized for the Imps it was left to their loaner Josh Griffiths to keep them in the game, producing a series of fine saves to prevent Rotherham, who besieged the home goal in the second half.
Griffiths first came to the rescue after 13 minutes, stretching one leg to prevent Smith’s weak effort.
City made a change after 22 minutes, with Fiorini replacing injured Conor McGrandles and within seconds Smith pulled the Millers in front, the tall forward slamming Freddie Ladapo’s cross.
Lincoln finally pulled off a decent opening seven minutes before the break, with Fiorini bringing out a dive from Viktor Johansson from a distance.
The game rocked at the other end and this time it was Griffiths who lowered himself to the palm of Ollie Rathbone’s 20-yard command.
City returned to a tie 10 minutes after the break when Liam Bridcutt threaded a ball to Fiorini and the Millers’ defense parted, he stepped forward to lead the ball past Johansson.
Intensity levels were rising and Griffiths had to be vigilant to save Smith’s close-range effort before Lewis Montsma fired at the other end.
Griffiths refused Smith again, throwing his head back, before the impressive keeper tipped Kieran Sadlier’s head.
Ben Wiles shot wide and Smith narrowly curled up as the Imps sort of held a point.
