Lil Nas X Goes On BET In New Song Teaser: ‘F**k BET’

Lil Nas X isn’t one to shy away from speaking his mind.

On Tuesday, the 23-year-old entertainer called out the BET Awards in the most interesting way for his lack of nominations this year.

Lil Nas X has turned his gripes about the disappointment into a new song which he shared with his fans on social media.

In the blasphemous clip, the young rapper can be seen shirtless in his car as he lip-syncs to his latest track, titled “Late to Da Party”, featuring YB.

“Fuck BET, fuck BET,” the song begins, which continues with the hitmaker lashing out at not needing anyone to validate his success.

“Look how I top shit / I rank just like three in the top 10 / And I don’t need nobody / I just need these ccs on my body / Everything I do try to run, go make a profit / Read about it,” he raps on the track.

Lil Nas X hasn’t been shy about declaring his contempt for Black Entertainment Television’s annual awards. He also tore them apart on Wednesday in a series of since-deleted tweets for not nominating him for the 2022 ceremony.

“Thanks to betting rewards. once again an exceptional zero nomination”, he wrote in his first tweet, before adding a “black excellence! ” mocker.

HuffPost has contacted the BET Awards for comment.

Lil Nas X has previously been nominated for Best New Artist at the BET Awards in 2020 and five BET Hip Hop Awards in 2019 and 2021.

Although the “Old Town Road” artist didn’t receive a BET award this year, he is set to take home the Hal David Starlight Award at the 2022 Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala on June 16.
