Progressive policies
have Oakland on the brink

Why have you fallen, O city of Oakland? From 1951 to 1993, I lived on the plains of Oakland’s Fruitvale district. As youngsters, we could go trick-or-treating safely without adult supervision. Now all the houses have metal bars on the windows and fences around the yards.

Until Oakland can solve its problems with crime, drugs, and homelessness, it will continue to lose businesses, restaurants, sports teams, and more. And it’s a tragedy because Oakland is a physically beautiful city with an important historical past and creative, hardworking people. Why Oaklanders continue to elect progressive, left-wing, failed politicians who do nothing but foster misery remains one of life’s great mysteries.

School closures were
failure of leadership

I have previously written to The Times about the failure of government and leadership that was the COVID lockdowns. Today, even the editorial board of the New York Times understands: “The evidence is now available, and it is surprising. The school closures that kept 50 million children out of classrooms at the start of the pandemic could prove to be the most damaging disruption in the history of American education. It also set back student progress in math and reading by two decades and widened the achievement gap that separates poor and rich children.

Great job representing the people, state legislators.

The Palestinians have
prolonged conflict

Despite the (alleged) atrocities on both sides, the biggest distinction between opponents of the Middle East conflict is that one side wants the other dead.

“From the river (Jordan) to the sea (Mediterranean), Palestine will be free. » Hamas does not want a Palestinian state and a Jewish state. They want their own state (borders described above) and no Jewish state. If Hamas disarmed, there would be peace. If Israel disarmed, it would be exterminated.

The Palestinians were offered their own state in 1937 (Peel Commission), 1947 (United Nations), 1967 (the Three Noes), 2000 (Barak/Arafat) and 2008 (Olmert/Abbas). They have rejected the offer five times, mainly because they cannot accept the existence of a Jewish state.

Israel has never started a war. She was repeatedly forced to defend herself against attacks from those around her. Keep the story in mind and maintain proper perspective.
