Let’s hope there is no more bio-bubble in cricket, says Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant said he was “very satisfied” after stepping out of the bio-bubble for the next five-match T20I series between India and South Africa, starting June 9 in Delhi. Pant also added that he hoped there would be no bio-bubble restrictions in cricket in the coming days.

The five-match T20I series between India and South Africa kicks off in Delhi on June 9. Almost all of India’s star players participated in the recently concluded IPL 2022 where they had to play in a bio-bubble due to the Covid-19 issues.

India vice-captain Rishab Panting, after getting out of the bubble, said he felt relaxed to finally be out. Notably, cricket has been playing under bio-bubble restrictions for over two years, and things are finally getting back to normal. Pant further claimed that there might not be more “bio-bubble things” in the future.

“Coming out of the bio-bubble is really, really satisfying. And hopefully there’s no more bio-bubble stuff, so I’m enjoying the time now that we’ve been through so much,” Pant told SG Cricket Podcast.

“When you keep playing throughout the year, especially with the kind of pressure, it’s important to relax your mind. If you can’t refresh your mind, you won’t give your one hundred percent. We need to keep working on our minds and keep refreshing.

Five T20Is will be played in five different cities with the highest crowd capacity in theaters. Since the 2020 pandemic, this has never happened in international cricket.
