Dillian Whyte has finally spoken about his fight with Tyson Fury, having remained silent since the announcement of the fight.
Whyte did not show up for the pre-fight press conference for his clash, but he has now posted information about the upcoming WBC title fight on his social media.
The Brixton heavyweight posted a workout montage, with the caption: “I’m ready. Can’t wait to see everyone on April 23.
Whyte has left the promotional duties to others so far, with Fury entertaining the media alone at the initial press conference, much to the disappointment of Fury’s promoter Frank Warren as well as the Gypsy King.
The furor over his silence even saw Whyte’s lawyer embroiled in a heated argument with Warren, live on talkSPORT.
We weren’t expected to come to Whyte until he landed in the UK the week of the fight, having completed his training camp in isolation in Portugal.
It will be Whyte’s first shot at a world title and it will be Fury’s second defense of his WBC strap following his successful trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder late last year.
The contest is expected to draw 94,000 fans to the iconic birthplace of English football, which will set a post-war attendance record for a boxing match in the UK.
