This is the third time in four World Cup races this season that the French relay, this time composed of Anaïs Bescond, Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet and Julia Simon, has finished in the first three places. During the second stage, in Kontiolahti (Finland), in early December, and the third stage, in Hochfilzen (Austria) in mid-December, they finished second.

This fourth stint of the season has crowned a fourth different nation. After Sweden, Norway and Germany, it was the Russians who won, just ahead of the Germans and at a respectable distance from the French.

The Swedish and Norwegian favorites have never been in the race for victory, their first runners having too often missed the target on shooting to allow to consider a comeback on the last laps of the track.

On the French side, after an unsuccessful start for Anaïs Bescond, the second runner Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet had managed to put the Blue in the race for victory. Justine Braisaz-Bouchet and Julia Simon did not achieve a clear shot which would have cast doubt on the two leading nations.

I would have liked to come out a little closer after the shots. But it’s still a great race, there is no disappointment to be had », Explained on the channel the Team Julia Simon, last French relay.

This event was the last before a more than two-week break and the World Championships in Pokljuka, Slovenia, starting on February 10.
