Lenexa, Kansas police help deliver late Thursday night

Lenexa officers helped deliver a baby in a car late Thursday night. Authorities said a couple were on their way to the hospital when they had to stop on 95th Street east of Interstate 35 because the mother was due to give birth. Police said three officers arrived at the scene and sprang into action. An officer delivered the baby in the passenger seat of the car. Authorities said mother, baby and father are doing well. This isn’t the first delivery for Lenexa police. The police department said on Labor Day, one of its officers, who was off duty, went to the hospital with his wife when she went into labor. Before they could enter, the officer delivered his own son to the backseat of their car.
