Midweek FA Cup action will dominate football headlines in England, but there’s a Premier League game to play – and it’s an important one.
Burnley will host Leicester City as the Clarets continue to climb the table after a series of positive results. Sean Dyche’s side have two wins and a draw in their last three, allowing Burnley to escape from the bottom of the EPL.
It’s hard to pick a team in this game as Burnley are steadily improving while Leicester are a bit of an unknown ahead of this contest. A few returning players will come in handy, but it’s a confident Burnley side who have found a result in each of their last four home games.
What has been consistent with these teams – at least in the Premier League – are limited chances. Six of Burnley’s last seven league games have scored two goals or less, while five have scored under 2.5 goals expected (xG).
Only two of Leicester’s five Premier League games in 2022 have had less than two goals or xG, but the Foxes have generated just 1.32 xG/game away from King Power Stadium throughout the year.
Because of that, I’m comfortable paying the very light juice on the Under with a wary deal most likely as both teams seek a crucial result.
The game: Burnley-Leicester City Under 2.5 goals (-115)
