Legendary WWE Wrestler’s Cause of Death Revealed

The cause of death of legendary WWE wrestler Sid Eudy has been revealed by his son, Gunnar Eudy, in a social media post.

“He was known to the world as Psycho Sid Vicious, but to our family he was simply ‘Popper,’ the beloved grandpa,” Gunnar Eudy wrote on Facebook Tuesday.

“In 2016, Sid was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and atrial fibrillation (better known as AF) around the same time. He also had a pacemaker fitted. In April 2021, he was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which was linked to the weed killer Roundup. Although he never told anyone about his battle with cancer, Sid lived life to the fullest, hitting the gym, taking boxing classes, making appearances for his fans, and of course, playing t-ball for the kids.

“He passed away peacefully in his bed, leaving behind a legacy of strength and determination. I have never met anyone with such strength as my father. He was truly one of a kind.”

On Monday, Gunnar Euday announced the death of his father.

Known as “Sycho Sid” and “Sid Justice,” he had been “battling cancer for several years.”

Standing at 6’1″, he rose to fame in 1989 when he signed with WCW and wrestled with and against some of the biggest names in the industry, including The Steiner Brothers, The Road Warriors and The Four Horseman.

He later competed in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Eudy became a six-time world champion, winning the WWF Championship twice and the WCW World Heavyweight Championship twice.

He was a fixture at major events, starring in the marquee matches at WrestleMania VIII and WrestleMania 13, two of WWE’s most iconic events. Perhaps his most memorable moments were his clash with Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VIII in 1992 and his feud with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 13 in 1997.

Debuting as Sid Justice in WWE, he served as a special guest referee at SummerSlam 1991, where WWE Champion Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior teamed against The Triangle of Terror in a 3-on-2 handicap match. That same night, he saved Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth from an attack by Jake Roberts and The Undertaker during the couple’s wedding reception.
