LeBron James greeted with boos, ‘Michael Jordan is better’ calls at Liverpool-Real Madrid game

LeBron James flew to Paris for Real Madrid’s recent match against Liverpool but was met with a shower of boos and chants of ‘Jordan was better’ as he sat in the stands.

James had a very extended offseason after he and his LA Lakers were kicked out of the NBA Playoffs in the first round. Apparently supporting his side in the 2022 UEFA Champions League Final at Stade de France was on the agenda.

But many fans in the stands weren’t as happy to see James as James was to see the game.

According to those present, Real Madrid fans blasted James with boos and chants.

Fans were already excited, it seems. The game was half an hour late as riots outside the stadium delayed kick-off as police and security forces sorted everything out. Riot police are reported to have used tear gas and pepper spray to keep furious Liverpool fans at bay.

“During the match, the turnstiles on the Liverpool side were blocked by thousands of fans who bought fake tickets which did not work in the turnstiles,” UEFA said of the situation in a statement.

To make matters worse, Real Madrid ended up winning the game by a 1-0 count. Liverpool fans simply couldn’t catch a break.
But it was all gravy for Real Madrid and many fans took to Twitter to celebrate the win and poke fun at James:
