League Two Crawley Town sign Sidemen star Tobi Brown’s brother Jed Brown on a development deal after inviting the family to trial training sessions on the advice of scouts at a charity game

Crawley Town has signed Sidemen YouTube star Tobi Brown’s brother Jed Brown to a one-year development deal.
The League Two side previously invited Tobi, Jed and their third brother Manny Brown to train with the club in November after sending scouts to watch the Sidemen Charity Match in which Tobi and Manny impressed last year .
Jed, the lesser-known of the three brothers, was already an aspiring non-league footballer and has been training with the team ever since.
He has now been rewarded with a one-year deal to join Crawley Town B side.
A club statement released on Monday read: βCrawley Town Football Club are delighted to announce that Jedidiah Brown has signed for the Red Devils on a one-year contract.
“Jed has signed a development contract which will see him join the club’s B team.
βJed started testing with the club alongside his two brothers, Tobi and Manny, in November 2022.
“Jed has been training with the club ever since and officially joined the club today, having previously been with Fisher FC in London.”
A quote was attached from Crawley’s co-chairman, Preston Johnson, who said: “Jed is a young player who has acquitted himself well in previous training sessions with the team, and we are happy that he is continuing his development. as a member of our Team B.
“Although he is not currently part of our first-team plans, we welcome Jed to the club and look forward to his continued growth as he trains alongside his new team-mates.”
Some Crawley fans were less than impressed with the move, calling it a “publicity stunt”.
And it’s not the first time the club has recruited a celebrity.
Reality TV star Mark Wright joined Crawley in late 2020.
He only spent six months at the club before being sacked, making just one professional start.
The former The Only Way is Essex man was substituted at the break after a disastrous 45 minutes for Crawley where they conceded three goals.
Jed Brown will no doubt be looking to prove his doubters wrong over the next year.
