LAURA INGRAHAM: The left is treating this like Armageddon

Fox News host Laura Ingraham says Rep. Ilhan Omar was kicked out of the House Foreign Affairs Committee because of her anti-Semitic comments, not because of her religion, on ‘The Ingraham Angle’ .

LAURA INGRAHAM: The party that presided over the militarization of government agencies, from the FBI to the EPA, is suddenly crying foul? And why? Because their position on the committee was put to a vote. How dare they be held responsible their own toxic words and abyssal record? Naturally, their chipped scripts about racism and misogyny came in handy.

Now let’s talk about a double standard. When Republicans lose committee assignments, it’s bad luck. When the Democrats lose them and are put to a real vote, nothing less, that’s Armageddon. But let’s be frank here. Omar lost her job on the Foreign Affairs Committee not because she is Muslim or wears a headscarf. She lost it ’cause over the years she made herself a series of anti-Semitic comments. She was not treated unfairly. The newly elected House decided it didn’t want anyone with their views involved in monitoring US foreign policy. She is free to serve on other committees, but she should not fill this particular role, given her radical and anti-Semitic history. Yeah, I know she made some excuses, but apparently they weren’t convincing.

If Democrats want to make an issue of it, well, they can try, but the idea that she was discriminated against because of her race or religious background is laughable. We don’t need to go through his old clips. We are all tired of hearing it and hearing them. The idea that Adam Schiff’s party and Nancy Pelosi have a leg to complain about all this is nonsense.

They filled the Jan. 6 committee with toads and two Republicans who hate Trump, and they kicked Marjorie Taylor Greene off every committee because they didn’t like her views. At the time, we warned Democrats, they were setting a precedent who would come back to bite them, but they weren’t listening. The GOP, however, wasn’t doing it in a tit-for-tat moment, kicking Schiff and Swalwell off their Intel committee or Omar off its Foreign Affairs committee. No – the Republicans, in doing this, were pragmatic.
