Las Vegas Aces win back-to-back WNBA titles

The Las Vegas Aces won back-to-back WNBA titles by defeating the New York Liberty in four games.

The Aces, the first team to defend the crown since 2002, won Game 4 in New York 70-69 to seal a 3-1 series victory.

With the teams tied at 64-64, Jackie Young and Aja Wilson gave the Aces a six-point lead with one minute, 26 seconds remaining.

New York cut that score to just one point, but couldn’t get the game-winning basket at the buzzer.

Wilson, who finished with 24 points and 16 rebounds, was named the finals series MVP.

Only the Los Angeles Sparks in 2002 and the Houston Comets, who won the title from 1997 to 2000, have ever won back-to-back championships.
