LAPD Deputy Chief Placed on Leave for Alleged Harassment

A senior Los Angeles Police Department official is on administrative leave due to a criminal investigation.

Deputy Chief Alfred Labrada is accused of secretly placing an AirTag on someone’s belongings. Although an outside agency opened a criminal investigation, the LAPD took matters into its own hands and launched an administrative investigation. The ministry made it clear that it was in constant communication with the relevant agency.

According to the LA Times, Labrada was flagged down by an officer who claimed to have found an AirTag in her belongings, which was allegedly used to track her movements.

Labrada and the policewoman previously dated but ended their relationship a few months ago, KTLA reported.
