Lady A’s Charles Kelley thanks fans for their support on the sobriety journey

“Being on the road with our fans is our greatest joy, so it was a difficult but important decision to make,” said the group, which also consists of Hillary Scott and David Haywoodwrote in a statement posted to Instagram on August 4. “We’re a band, but more importantly…we’re a family.”

The band continued, “We’re proud to say that Charles has embarked on a journey of sobriety. So now, to be the healthiest, strongest and most creative band possible, Lady A will take the time with the support of our families and our team of professionals to get through this together.”

Lady A acknowledged that postponing the tour was a “difficult” decision, but the right one for the band. “It’s still early on this road,” the statement continued, “but we are determined to do what will best allow us to spend many more years together.”
