Around 80 Labor officials will meet at a secret location in London on Friday to sign the party’s manifesto in a process known as a “Clause V” meeting. Enhanced security will be provided for participants after the manifesto was leaked in 2017.
Labor officials expect few surprises as much of the party’s program has already been outlined at its National Policy Forum. However, the elements agreed in the MFN could be modified, excluded or watered down.
The Conservative Party’s manifesto launch is currently scheduled for between Monday and Wednesday next week, according to Guido Fawkes’ website, who also announced the date of next Thursday for the Labor Party.
The Green Party has planned its launch on Wednesday June 12. The Liberal Democrats will launch their program next week, but have not announced a date. Small parties often wait until the agenda is clear to maximize media coverage and avoid coming into conflict with larger rivals.
