There is no evidence to prove that Juan Cala of Cadiz used racist language against Valencia’s Mouctar Diakhaby, a La Liga investigation has concluded.
The alleged incident happened just before the half hour of last Sunday’s game after Diakhaby collided with Cala as Cadiz threw a free kick into Valencia’s box.
The French defender was visibly angry and after a verbal exchange in which he had to be restrained by his teammate Kevin Gameiro and Fali from Cadiz. He received a yellow card for improper conduct.
After speaking with the referee to further explain the reason for his explosion, Diakhaby walked out of the pitch and walked down the tunnel alongside his teammates with the game at 1-1.
After the match, an investigation by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) was opened to examine the evidence, with La Liga using audiovisual archives, audios of the match, disseminating images and footage circulating on social media to help the investigation.
The league also hired a lip-reading company that studied the behavior and interactions between Cala and Diakhaby.
La Liga say they have informed both clubs of these facts to help with the case that has been opened by the Spanish FA on the incident.
