Kylie Jenner thinks criticism of her support for GoFundMe campaign is not fair
Jenner recently shared an Instagram story asking for prayers for makeup artist Samuel Rauda and directing her 222 million followers to a GoFundMe has started helping her pay her medical bills. According to GoFundMe, Rauda was the victim of an accident and “underwent major surgery on Sunday 03/14/21”. No details of the accident were provided.
Many on social media responded by asking why the reality TV star and makeup mogul – who made Forbes’ list of the ’60 richest self-righteous women’ and appeared on the cover of the post – did not just paid the bills herself.

Jenner posted a statement on her Instagram Stories on Monday, writing: “I think it’s important for me to clear up this false narrative that I asked fans for money and didn’t pay the medical bills. of my makeup artist. “

“Sam is not my makeup artist and unfortunately we don’t have a personal relationship anymore but I worked with him a few years ago and I think he is the nicest one,” the statement read. “I saw my current makeup artist and friend Ariel posting about Sam’s crash and his family’s GoFundMe and immediately called Ariel to see what happened to Sam.”

GoFundMe’s original goal was $ 10,000, when Jenner donated $ 5,000, a source close to Jenner told CNN. An account under Jenner’s name on GoFundMe shows a donation of $ 5,000.

Jenner also addressed this issue in her statement, writing, “They had already raised 6k so I put it in 5k to meet their original goal and thought I would post on my stories to gain more awareness if anyone. ‘one also felt obligated (to) share or donate. “

“I don’t know how it all got so twisted, but her family have reached out through Ariel and are so grateful for all of the gifts, prayers and love towards Sam,” the statement read. “Anyone who knows me knows that I do things with my heart and I try to be helpful whenever I can. Let’s all stay positive and keep Sam, his family, and everyone you know who is going through a tough time in our prayers. “

CNN had contacted representatives for Jenner before releasing its statement.
