Kyle Busch and Austin Cindric were among the cars wrapped in wreckage on Turn 2 during the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday.

JJ Yeley’s No. 15 raced back up the track in the turn after a lap 25 restart. He received contact from Michael McDowell and Aric Almirola which helped start the wreck. Yeley and Ty Gibb would punch Cindric, who was sent crashing into the wall.

Busch got a touch from Almirola and he hit the wall. Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Harrison Burton and Todd Gilliland were also involved in the sinking.

Busch, who drives for Joe Gibbs Racing, was among those eliminated from the race. He admitted in his post-race interview that he had been on the wrong end of some finishes. He hasn’t finished in the top 10 since his second place finish at the Enjoy Illinois 300 in Illinois in June.

“I was just trying to bide my time and I knew we weren’t necessarily going to be rushed out there to get points for the end of this stage,” he said. “It was going to be a 40-lap race, and it was going to be a lot of time to get up there with our car. We had a really fast Interstate Batteries Camry. I mean, it looked really good for the day and obviously not a good result. I just got stuck between the 10 spinning and myself and the fence. Don’t get it man. I just can’t buy a break right now.

Cindric took a hard hit in the wall but managed to get out of her car with no problem.

“All I saw was the 15 car on the side and it all piled up. I got tagged in the left rear, pushed myself onto the race track, then been shot head-on in the fence Looks like the 15 just came off, stacked everyone It’s not Ty’s fault, just everyone stacked up, but obviously a pretty massive hit against the outside wall head on,” Cindric said. “I’m happy to be okay, it’s really a waste to do all this and do a few laps and finish last, it’s really unfortunate. I hate it for the guys, the team, Discount Tire and everything the world.”

Busch finished 36th and Cindric 37th.
