Team India wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav shared a selfie with India captain KL Rahul while on board en route to Zimbabwe on Sunday. The duo were seen wearing Team India jackets as they smiled for the camera. Sharing the video on Instagram, Kuldeep wrote:
“Quick one with the jump before take off…Zimbabwe call zw @klrahul.”
KL Rahul is making a return to international cricket after a six-month hiatus. He will lead the team ahead of Shikhar Dhawan, who has raised many eyebrows. The latter guided India towards a 3-0 whitewashing of the West Indies. Dhawan also slammed a few half centuries, including a 97-run run in the series.

On the other hand, Rahul’s last international game was an ODI against West Indies on February 9, where he scored 49 points. The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain has had a decent season in the Indian Premier League.
However, knee surgery delayed his return to the national team and he missed the home T20I against South Africa in July. He then missed the England tour due to rehabilitation and later tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the recently concluded India tour of the West Indies.
The opener will be looking to gain confidence ahead of the Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates. The Men in Blue will play their opening match against Zimbabwe in Harare on Thursday August 18th. The other ODIs are scheduled to take place on August 20 and 22.
Kuldeep Yadav failed to make an Asian Cup
Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav recently made his international return after a decent stint with the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL. He took a three for against West Indies in the fifth and final T20I as India won the game by 88 points and secured the series by a 4-1 margin.
Kuldeep, however, missed out on a spot in India’s Asian Cup squad. He will be looking to deliver in the three-game ODI series to gain the confidence of the managers in the build-up to the T20 World Cup.
