A clean checkup in a team worth millions is not often seen as a problem.
But nonetheless, it presents Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel with tough decisions ahead of the FA Cup final against Leicester.
Tuchel almost confirmed N’Golo Kante is the first name on his roster after recovering from a minor issue that ruled him out of the loss at Arsenal on Wednesday.
“He will start tomorrow and very likely finish the game for us,” said the Blues boss.
It is Kante’s partner who will give Tuchel more headaches, now Mateo Kovacic is fit and available.
The dynamic Croatian has missed the last nine games with a thigh problem – and an FA Cup final is not the place to regain the clarity of the game.
However, his return to form comes after Jorginho’s botched back pass gave the Gunners the win earlier this week, and the Italian could be punished for his mistake.
But Jorginho was not the only one responsible for the defeat. Kai Havertz, playing in front of Timo Werner, fended off a glorious opportunity to put the Blues in the lead early on.
With Mason Mount a guaranteed starter and Christian Pulisic in good shape, it is likely that only Havertz or Werner will get the nod on Saturday.
It is potentially revealing that Werner was rested for the entire Arsenal game.
For Leicester, they also have to decide whether or not to throw formerly injured players like James Maddison into the deep end.
Meanwhile, the Foxes desperately want Jonny Evans to get into form, not only so he can get back to the core of their defense, but so Tiomthy Castagne can play from the back.
Leicester will undoubtedly match Chelsea’s three full-backs with their own variation of the roster, which will likely include Luke Thomas after his wonderful strike at Old Trafford, Ricardo Perreira also in a race to get in shape.
