King Charles is already assuming his new role as leader of the United Kingdom.
A day after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth IICharles joins his wife Camilla for their first public outing as king and queen consort.
The couple were pictured outside Buckingham Palace on September 9, view flowers and tributes to Her Majesty and meet members of the public.
They were with the Queen at Balmoral, Scotland amid news of her death and returned back in London on September 9. Charles will give a pre-recorded televised address to the public later today.
As the Queen’s eldest son, Charles became king immediately after his death at age 96.
Charles, 73, soon paid tribute to the late monarch. “The death of my beloved mother, Her Majesty the Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family,” he said in a statement shared by Buckingham Palace on September 8. . “We deeply mourn the passing of a dear Sovereign and a beloved Mother.”
