Kevin Spacey is set to make his first appearance in five years and receive an award in Italy


Actor Kevin Spacey will take part in a public masterclass at the National Cinema Museum of Italy, where he will also receive a lifetime achievement award.

The Oscar winner will hold a public conversation on stage on January 16 next year with museum director Domenico De Gaetano. A screening of one of Spacey’s films at Cinema Massimo, which Spacey will present, will follow.

After the event, Spacey will receive the Stella della Mole Award, a lifetime achievement honor.

“We are honored that a guest as prestigious as Kevin Spacey has chosen Turin and an institutional location such as our museum for this long-awaited return,” said Enzo Ghigo, president of the National Cinema Museum, in a press release. “It is a privilege to host the Masterclass of one of the greatest film and theater actors of our time.”

The occasion will mark the first time the embattled actor has spoken publicly in the past five years.

Spacey has kept a relatively low profile outside of court appearances since 2017, when he was first charged with sexual misconduct.

The former ‘House of Cards’ actor has been charged with assault, battery and emotional distress stemming from an alleged incident against Rapp in 1986, when the latter was 14 years old.

Spacey is still facing another trial in London for sexually assaulting multiple men in the UK. He pleaded not guilty in July and is expected to stand trial next year.
