Katie Couric loved the models as much as the clothes on a New York Fashion Week show.
There was a wide range of ages on the run during Markarian’s chic show at the Ukrainian Institute on the Upper East Side on Wednesday in front of a star-studded crowd.
“I love that there are more mature models,” Couric told us. “And some women who weren’t thin. He captured a diverse group of people. As a 65 year old, I really enjoyed seeing an older model on the show.
The broadcast journalist and author of “Going There” sat in the front row with her daughter, Carrie Couric Monahan, 25.
Couric told us it was her only Fashion Week show — and Carrie’s first fashion show. The stylish brand has a special meaning for the family, she told us. Carrie wore a dress from the line, designed by Alexandra O’Neill, for her sister Ellie’s upstate wedding to Mark Dobrosky last year.
“The clothes are just beautiful,” Couric told Page Six. “They are so feminine. The fabrics are so pretty.
Candace Bushnell, Lili Biffet, Anna, Mikhail Baryshnikov’s daughter, Indre Rockefeller, Ivy Getty and the heiress to the Belgian throne, HRH Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant were also present.
Nicky Hilton, who just gave birth to her third child and first son with husband James Rothschild in June, was also seated front row in a blue dress.
“I’m a pro at this point [at motherhood]”, she told us. “And I have my two little girls to help me with my boy.”
The couple share daughters Lily-Grace, 6, and Teddy, 4.
