Justin Fields lands with Bears in 2021 NFL Draft;  the football world reacts to the selection

There is a new Midway Monster.

After months of speculation, unfair analysis and mercurial drafts, Justin Fields is heading to the Bears after being selected 11th overall by them in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Bears, who were originally scheduled to pick the No.20, traded a 2022-plus first-round pick to the Giants for the No.11 pick. Fields was expected to enter the top 10, and a short slip saw Chicago get their presumed long-term response to the quarterback.

The Ohio State QB was put to the test ahead of this year’s draft. At first he was supposed to be No.2 quarterback, but he was eventually passed by BYU’s Zach Wilson (No.2, Jets) and Trey Lance (No.3, 49ers) before finally hearing his name called. .

Fields was at home with friends and family when his name was announced and one of the 2021 NFL Draft’s biggest mysteries has been solved.

Although the Bears have signed free quarterback Andy Dalton, presumably to start with, they will have quite a choice to make if Fields looks ready during training camp.
