According to Ian Rush, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool could become their best team, but only if they manage to win the treble.
The Reds have enjoyed plenty of success since Klopp took charge in 2015, winning the Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup before that campaign.
Looking to the 2021/21 season, Liverpool couldn’t have gotten off to a better start by securing a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over Chelsea at Wembley to secure the Carabao Cup.
Klopp’s side are still competing on three other fronts this season, with the club looking strong in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League as well.
Fine form in the league has seen the Merseysiders reduce City’s lead at the top of the table to just six points, and the Reds also have a game in progress.
With a favorable FA Cup fifth round draw against Norwich and a 2-0 aggregate lead over Inter Milan ahead of the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16, fans are starting to get excited about this which could be a historic campaign.
In 1983/84 Joe Fagan’s Liverpool side won the Division One title, League Cup and European Cup with Ian Rush scoring 47 goals in all competitions that season.
However, according to club legend Rush, Klopp’s current side could top their achievements if they go all the way on four fronts.

When asked if Liverpool could win the quadruple, Rush told talkSPORT: “I’d like to think so.
“If they won all four, they should become the greatest Liverpool team of all time, I would say.
“We have won three trophies in a year, so if they win four they will have to become the best team the club has ever had.
“I know it’s a strong feeling, but to win four would be absolutely amazing.
“They have a chance, but one step at a time.
“There’s still a long way to go, but Liverpool have a strong team.”
The prospect of winning the quadruple will be a big talking point around Anfield by the end of the season, but speaking to talkSPORT after the game, club captain Jordan Henderson said they were taking things slowly .
“I think people are going to get carried away, but as a team we won’t get carried away,” he said.
“We will take each match as it comes, yes we are delighted with the victory and we will enjoy this evening, but tomorrow is then business.
“We have a tough midweek game in the FA Cup and we take every game as it comes.
“At the start of the season, you never intended to go for certain trophies and not go.
“We will take every game, no matter the competition, take every game as it comes, get in every game and everything has worked out well so far.
“So hopefully we can continue on this path and in the near future hopefully there will be more trophies to be won.”
