Joshua Jackson reveals how his wife Jodie Turner-Smith proposed to him

The actor appeared on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon on Monday to “clear up some misconceptions about my proposal,” according to his Twitter food.

And that’s exactly what he did, as Jackson revealed how his wife, actress Jodie Turner-Smith, proposed to him.

“She asked me on New Years Eve,” the “Dr. Death,” said the star. “We were in Nicaragua. It was very beautiful, incredibly romantic. We were walking on the beach and she asked me to marry her.

The audience started to cheer when Fallon said “wow” and asked if Turner-Smith had planned it.

“There was like a preamble, there was a preparation,” Jackson said, telling the late-night talk show host he “didn’t know” the proposal was going to happen.

“But she was quite adamant and she was right. It’s the best choice I’ve ever made, ”said the artist, as he took off his wedding ring and looked at her lovingly, to the audience’s applause.

Below is a photo on Turner-Smith’s Instagram from the couple’s trip to Nicaragua in 2019, which we now know to be more than a casual vacation:

The “Queen & Slim” actor previously revealed that she first met Jackson at a party in 2018 and the night ended with a one-night stand.

“I saw him before he saw me and when I saw him I was like, ‘I want this,'” she said on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” in May. “And then when he saw me, I just pretended I hadn’t seen him.”

“We had a one-night stand,” she joked. “We’re on a two, three year one night stand now.”

All jokes aside, Turner-Smith told People magazine that Jackson is “so supportive and loving” and the two are “like mirrors to each other.”

“We congratulate ourselves on the quality of our choice all the time,” she told the magazine with a laugh. “We thought, ‘You did a great job choosing,’ and then we thought, ‘Yes, you too. ”
