It’s been a little over a month since the Colombia Women’s team made its historic presentation at the World Cup FIFA Australia/New Zealand 2023, and the big names on that team continue to resonate, especially the most influential players.
This is the case of the defender Jorelyn Carabalí, that after his game demonstrated in the orbital event he caught the attention of the Brighton & Hove Albion, one of the English first division teams that has gained the most sporting projection in recent years.
Through a few short statements, Jorelyn’s new coach, Melissa Phillips, He stated that they are delighted with his signing and are sure that he will be able to bring a new rhythm to the squad:
“We are delighted to have Jorelyn with us. This is his first experience with football in Europe, but in his performances at the World Cup this summer we saw that he has a lot to offer in terms of ability and mentality.”
It was at the beginning of September that the French team confirmed that the Colombian was leaving the club’s ranks after a season in Brazilian football, making her the first sale in the history of the women’s team:
“After a season playing for #Vingadoras, Jorelyn says goodbye to the Club! The defense, which stood out for the Colombian National Team in the World Cup, was negotiated with Brighton & Hove of England, in the first sale in the history of the Gallo Femenino. Thanks for everything”.
Carabalí’s time at Mineiro was quite short, the one born in Jamundí signed with this institution at the beginning of 2023 along with her compatriots Manuela Paví and Ingrid Guerra, but after an excellent World Cup he earned the opportunity to make the leap to European football.
