“John spoke better tonight than he did in elementary school”

A spokesman for Pennsylvania Lt. Governor John Fetterman (D), who is running against Republican Mehmet Oz for the open US Senate seat, said he did ‘better’ in Tuesday night’s debate after he suffered a stroke than during the primary debate before his stroke.

After Tuesday night’s debate, where Fetterman stumbled over debate questions while suffering from cognitive issues after a stroke in May, his spokesperson told local media that he was communicating better than before with Pennsylvania voters.

“John spoke better tonight than he did in the primary,” Fetterman’s spokesperson said. “I don’t know if you were there. He gave a better performance tonight than he gave in the primary.

During Tuesday night’s debate, Fetterman needed closed captioning technology to fully understand the questions posed to himself and Oz. Fetterman previously used closed captioning technology in an interview with NBC News.
