A busker in the United States had a chance encounter with John Legend – while singing his hit song All Of Me.

The Grammy winner was on his way to Faneuil Hall in Boston with his family ahead of his concert on Sunday night when he stopped to watch street artist Radha Rao.

The singer was performing his hit song and impressed Legend enough to tip and hug him.

The 22-year-old didn’t recognize him at first – he was wearing a mask and she didn’t know he was in Boston.

Ms Rao, who grew up in Boston and lived for some time in Hyderabad, India, told Sky News that “it was a wonderful surprise.”

“It was something I didn’t expect at all, but it was a wonderful surprise. It’s not common for you to sing an idol’s song and for him to be there. a special experience, ”she said.

While the recently graduated Boston University singer was nervous when she spotted Legend, she said she continued to sing.

“I’m a huge fan and he’s a great inspiration. I will always continue to sing this song. It’s a fan favorite song and one of my favorites. This memory will continue to help me play.” , she said.

Ms. Rao said that Legend expressed his feelings for her music and her voice, and he also thanked her for singing his song.

The song is a regular part of her two-hour set at Faneuil Hall, having first tried her hand at street performance in August because she wanted a new spontaneous and colorful experience.

While Ms. Rao is relatively new to the field of street performance, she has been singing from a young age, drawing influences from her Indian heritage.

Her mother is a classically trained Indian singer and she uses her influences on her music, which she describes as Western with Indian fusion.

Since graduating from college, Ms. Rao has worked full time in a music technology company and spends her free time playing and making music, which she says is her “real passion”.
