John Fetterman of Pennsylvania is expected to return to the Senate in mid-April

Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman is expected to return to the Senate the week of April 17, according to a source close to him. The Democrat’s return will follow the Senate’s two-week suspension in early April.

Fetterman has been undergoing treatment for clinical depression at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland since mid-February. He got verified to Walter Reed for hospital care on the recommendation of the US Congressional Physician.

His chief of staff said in early March, Fetterman would be back “soon”, adding that he was “on the mend.”

Fetterman was sidelined for two months in the 2022 campaign after victim of a stroke and underwent surgery to implant a pacemaker. Before being hospitalized, he was hospitalized after feeling giddy during a Senate Democratic retreat in Washington.
