Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) posted a Politico article on President Joe Biden’s limited participation on Twitter and cable on Monday to criticize his leadership.
The article, “Biden White House Media Doctrine: Less Can Be More,” describes the White House strategy for emphasizing quality of messages over quantity, using Cabinet members to discussing politics if applicable and asking Biden to speak directly to the camera about “marquee” issues.
Politico’s tone seemed more observational than critical, but Cornyn reused a passage in an indictment of the president.
Quoting from an excerpt, Cornyn tweeted: “The president doesn’t do cable interviews. Tweets from her account are limited and, when they arrive, unimaginably conventional. Public comments are largely scripted. Biden has opted for fewer sit-down interviews with mainstream media and reporters. “
The senator then followed in his own words: “Ask the question: is he really responsible?”
The question invited harsh answers.
