MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough said Wednesday that every Democrat he speaks with off-air admits they have serious concerns about President Joe Biden’s age ahead of the 2024 election.
Biden is already the longest serving US president. He turned 80 last November. If he wins the 2024 election and serves a second full term, he would be 86 years old when he leaves the White House.
“People say, ‘Man, he’s too old to run, right?’ I mean, he won’t. He’s not really going to show up. » Scarborough said. “When I say every discussion, I’m not talking about 99% of the discussion. Every discussion.
Republicans will often be criticized for saying “one thing about Donald Trump on the air and another on the air,” Scarborough noted. “Well, let me just say that Democrats, off-air, will say ‘Joe Biden is too old.’ Why is he running? On air ? They won’t say that.
Scarborough acknowledged, however, that he didn’t see “many Democrats” who could do a better job than Biden and beat Trump.
“I don’t see many Democrats. I don’t see any Democrats right now who can do that,” he said.
