Joe Joyce aims to get closer to his world heavyweight dream by knocking out veteran world heavyweight Carlos Takam on Saturday night.
The fight, which will be live and exclusive on talkSPORT, will pit two of this glamorous division’s most enduring and grizzled contenders against each other.
Joyce, who won silver at the Rio 2016 Olympics, turned 35 two months ago and continued to climb rapidly in the professional heavyweight rankings to fulfill her world title dreams.
He was confirmed as the WBO’s next mandatory challenger after Oleksandr Usyk faced World Champion Anthony Joshua. But first, he has to beat Carlos Takam, whom he meets in the ring on Saturday live on talkSPORT.
‘The Juggernaut’ is certainly bossy itself. Joyce once faced Dave Allen, a man who shared the ring with Joshua, Usyk and even Tyson Fury in his day.
But Joyce’s beatings on the ‘White Rhino’ stuck with him over the years and left him extremely disoriented.
“I’ve fought Joe Joyce for six rounds before,” Allen wrote on Instagram. “He hit me so hard and so often.
“I got ready, left the gym and walked for 20 minutes. I had forgotten where the station was and what day it was because of the spar. Then I came back and went to KFC because I had missed my train, true story.
