Joe Biden meets Oscar-nominated ‘CODA’ cast amid crushing gas prices, inflation and border crisis

As inflation continues to soar, gas prices soar and the southern border crisis goes unresolved, President Joe Biden (D) has spent time this week rubbing shoulders with Hollywood stars as the cast of the Oscar-nominated film. CODA visited the White House.
In a video posted to First Lady Jill Biden’s social media accounts, the actors – including Marlee Matlin, Troy Kotsur, Emilia Jones and Daniel Durant – toured the White House and watched the US Marine Band perform music from the film .
Later, President Biden mingled with CODA sunk in the Oval Office.
“I guess you understand the impact you’ve had on the whole country,” the president said. “It has helped so many people.”

CODA is considered one of the best picture favorites at Sunday’s Oscars. The Apple TV+ tearjerker tells the story of a deaf, working-class Massachusetts family and the emotional strain they feel when the only hearing member of the family — 17-year-old Ruby (Emilia Jones) — decides that she wants to become a singer.
It is a remake of the 2014 French film The Aries Family.
Matlin, who plays the family matriarch, revealed earlier this week that Joe and Jill Biden both watched the film and loved its “theme of family authenticity.”
We are in the projection room of the White House. Meanwhile, we were blown away when @potus and @FLOTUS told us they liked #CODAfilm and its theme of family authenticity. We also found out that White House staff cried while watching the movie! 🏻🏻 @appletvplus pic.twitter.com/3jN7fOKP8c
