Joachim Andersen receives death threats as Crystal Palace star reveals online abuse after Darwin Nunez shock

In Monday night’s 1-1 draw at Anfield, Nunez was sent off for headbutting the Danish centre-back following a number of fights between the two – prompting a tirade of threats from death and more from hundreds of Instagram users.

He wrote: “I received maybe 3-400 of these messages last night. I understand that you support a team, but respect and stop acting harsh online [sic].”

A long series of abusive threats, accusations and insults, including “I’m going to kill you”, received via his private Instagram messages, were posted by Andersen as he called on authorities to act.

“I hope Instagram and the Premier League do something about it,” he added.

The people behind the 17 examples of abuse presented by Andersen appeared to come from various countries, including the UK, and were all men of different ages.

Liverpool, Crystal Palace, the Premier League and Instagram have yet to comment publicly on the matter.
