Jimmy Kimmel pokes fun at Rep Matt Gaetz’s ‘not suspicious’ request for forgiveness

According to the New York Times, Gaetz privately asked the White House for preventative pardons for himself and unidentified allies of Congress for crimes they may have committed.

News broke last month that Gaetz was under investigation for alleged sex trafficking and accused of having had sex with a 17-year-old girl. It is not known if and what he knew about the investigation at the time of his request.

“It’s not suspicious,” Kimmel said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” “You know you haven’t done anything wrong when you sit down with the president to ask for forgiveness in case you’re charged with a sex crime somewhere.
